The "heart" of a portable humidifier is the replaceable humidifier wick (often called a humidifier pad or filter). The humidifier wick absorbs water from the portable humidifier’s tank. Fits better than those retail purchased filters used in past. Tighter "weave" than those used in past. Using tap water rather than softened water (salt clogs the filter in short time) as well as water treatment for humidifiers hoping will last longer than those used in past. Too expensive to use distilled water. Have purchased from DiscountFilter for HVAC & refrigerator filters for years. Customer service is excellent. Excited to have the humidifier filters available now.

Considering that the Honeywell humidifier that I bought a year ago no longer even lists the filter replacement part I searched for a compatible filter and found this one at what seemed to be an "OK" price. It fits and after one week seems to be working fine
