The factory original OEM GE filter is the most expensive of the three, however it is also the most highly rated of the three. The GE GSWF filter is the only one to receive passing grades from NSF/ANSI International for Standards 42 and 53. Supco and Swift Green did not receive passing grades on such tests; showcasing the superior performance of the GE brand GSWF model filter. The Swift Green brand GSWF is the least expensive of the three however, appealing to an advantage your wallet will enjoy. The Swift Green brand filter is also manufactured utilizing an environmentally friendly & conscious system in Canada. The Supco brand advantages include a tie-leading gallon capacity of 750 gallons and 0.5 GPM flow rate for its class.

Product Description
The GSWF model water filter comes in a factory original OEM model by GE and two aftermarket forms; Swift Green and Supco. The GSWF model filter can be used in a multitude of refrigerators. Such compatible refrigerators include GE, Amana, Hotpoint, and Kenmore. The factory original OEM GSWF by GE has been put through vigorous testing by NSF/ANSI International; a global independent testing organization for public health. The factory original GSWF graded positively against Standard 42 and Standard 53. Such passing grades for these Standards ensure a number of positive qualities for this filter's utilization; reduction of chlorine taste, reduction of chlorine odor, particulate, cysts, lead, turbidity, and other potentially harmful chemicals in your water supply. This water filter should be changed every six months to ensure the highest filtration performance.
Installation
How To Install The GSWF Filter:
- Open cartridge cover by pushing in where indicated
- Remove old filter cartridge by slowly rotating to the left (counterclockwise)
- Position new cartridge inside the cartridge holder and slowly rotate the cartridge to the right (clockwise) until it stops. The cartridge will rotate about 1/4 turn. When installed correctly, the grip blade on the end of the cartridge should be positioned vertically for top-freezer models and horizontally for bottom freezer models. Do not overtighten
- Close cartridge cover
- Reset filter change indicator if your refrigerator has one
- Flush 1.5 gallons (approximately 3 minutes) through the filter before use. This will clear the system and prevent sputtering
